A bony hand reaches across to a wall switch marked ON at the top and OFF at the bottom, and it has been flipped firmly to ON — Pumpkin in orange script above the plate, Season in bubblegum pink script below, with a latte cup, a slice of pie and four little pumpkins crowding the edges. Seventies lettering, pink and orange instead of the usual orange and black. We screen print it on heavyweight garment-dyed cotton so the thick script stays flat and does not crack along the curves. The cut is generous through the waist; go down one size for a closer fit or stay where you are for the slouchy shape. It works from September to late November more than it works on one night, which is the joke — the switch stays on until the last of the pie is gone. Order by October 18 if it needs to be worn on the 31st. Fun gift for whoever in the group starts posting about pie before Labor Day.
