About Us
Our Story
Pepper & Moss started with a simple observation: the best part of Halloween isn't a single night, it's the whole stretch of weeks leading up to it — the first cold morning that finally feels like fall, the drive out to a pumpkin patch, the porch lights going up string by string. We wanted apparel that lived in that whole season, not just costumes for one evening. So we built a small catalog of embroidered sweatshirts, printed graphic tees, and pullover hoodies designed to be worn from the first hint of October chill straight through to the last trick-or-treater in November.
We're based in Wenatchee, Washington, in the orchard country of the Columbia River valley, where autumn arrives early and stays a while — and that setting shapes everything about how we design. Instead of neon, cartoon-style Halloween graphics, we lean into the quieter, moodier side of the holiday: candlelit ghosts stitched in tonal thread, moon phases printed in metallic gold, orchard scenes rendered in warm harvest color. The goal on every piece is the same — something you'd genuinely want to wear on a Tuesday in late September, not just for one costume party.
Every design starts as original artwork, hand-drawn or hand-embroidered before it ever becomes a repeatable print or stitch file. We work in small batches so we can hold a higher bar on fabric weight, print durability, and embroidery density than typical mass-produced seasonal merchandise, and so every piece can go through an actual quality check before it ships.
Our Mission
Our mission is to make spooky-season apparel that people keep wearing well after October 31st — pieces built from midweight fleece and ringspun cotton that hold up to real, repeated wear rather than fading and pilling after a single season. We'd rather sell 18 designs we're proud of than 180 designs we aren't.
We also believe good customer service is part of the product. That means clear sizing information before you buy, a straightforward 30-day return window, and a real person reading every email that comes into our inbox.
What We Make
Our catalog is organized into six collections, each built around a distinct corner of the spooky season:
- Embroidered Ghost Sweatshirts — heavyweight crewnecks featuring stitched ghost embroidery in tonal and contrast threads, with soft fleece interiors built for chilly October evenings
- Halloween Graphic Tees — short-sleeve cotton tees printed with vintage-inspired Halloween artwork, spooky slogans, and haunted illustrations in a relaxed unisex fit
- Pumpkin & Autumn Crewnecks — cozy pullovers in harvest tones with pumpkin patch, cider, and falling-leaf designs, made for weekend hayrides and porch-season mornings
- Witchy Sweatshirts — moody sweatshirts with crescent moons, tarot motifs, potion labels, and coven-inspired lettering for anyone who keeps the season going all year
- Black Cat & Skeleton Shirts — tees and long sleeves starring prowling black cats, dancing skeletons, and bone-print graphics that read just as well in November as October
- Spooky Fall Hoodies — adult pullover and zip hoodies with brushed fleece linings and haunted seasonal graphics, with roomy hoods and deep pockets for bonfire nights

We ship every order with the same care whether it's your first order or your fifth, and we read and respond to every email ourselves within 1–2 business days.
We also take honest marketing seriously. The prices, shipping costs, and return terms you see on this site are the same ones you'll experience at checkout — no fine print, no last-minute surprise fees, no countdown timers that reset when you refresh the page.
Community
Harvest season runs deep in the Wenatchee Valley — apple picking, cold mornings, and porch lights going up as the orchards turn — and that rhythm is part of why we started this brand here. We source printing and embroidery from small production partners in the Pacific Northwest whenever we can, and we're proud to be a small, independent apparel company rather than a seasonal pop-up storefront.
