Divers glide above a coral reef while sea turtles and tropical fish move through the water below, the whole scene held in crystal-clear epoxy on a wood base. The top edge of the block is carved into a rolling wave, which separates the surface from the depths and gives the piece a real sense of how far down the reef sits. It is modeled on actual ocean habitats rather than invented fantasy sea life. Three sizes are listed: M at 5.8 x 4.5 inches, L at 7.8 x 6.5 inches and XL at 9.5 x 7.5 inches. Larger sizes carry more of the reef and more marine detail, while the smallest suits a desk or a narrow shelf. A 16-color RGB LED shines up through the resin from the base, picking out the coral texture, the turtles and the wood grain. The USB cable is included, as is a remote; the remote comes without batteries, though the color can also be changed with the button on the power cord. Wood and epoxy are both natural materials, so grain, small cracks and slight color shifts are normal and make each piece its own.
