Curled up and fast asleep, the black Night Fury dragon from How to Train Your Dragon rests inside an upright panel of clear epoxy resin, tail wrapped around himself and wings folded flat. The resin behind him carries a soft tinted wash that fades toward the polished front face, so the sleeping shape sits forward with open space around it rather than being crowded by background detail. The LED in the base lights the panel from underneath, and the glow collects along the curve of his back and the edges of the wings, which is what makes the lamp read as calm rather than dramatic. It settles easily into a bedroom, a nursery or a shelf of film keepsakes. Size is the only axis to set, with Size S at 13 x 6.5 cm, Size M at 15 x 8 cm, and Size L at 17.5 x 9.5 cm. Each one comes with a USB wooden magnetic light stand, a USB cable for that stand, and a remote for the 10-colour 5W LED, supplied without batteries. The panels are cast, sanded and polished by hand, so allow roughly 0.5 to 1 inch of variation in the finished measurements and expect each dragon to differ slightly.
