Schools of fish move through this one. Rather than a single focal figure, the block is built up in layers so small painted fish sit at different depths in the blue epoxy, some close to the front face, others far back where the pigment goes darkest, and the light from the wooden base reaches each of them at a slightly different strength. Viewed straight on it looks like a cross-section cut out of open water; from an angle the layers slide past one another and the shoal appears to swim. Three sizes are listed: S at 19 x 15 cm, M at 22 x 18 cm and L at 28 x 22 cm. Light colour is changed with the included remote control, so the water can run cold blue, green or warm gold depending on the hour. Because every block is poured and finished by hand instead of cast from stock, extra elements can be worked into the scene during the build, among them a diver, a clownfish, additional coral reef, or a different resin colour altogether. That also means no two pieces hold an identical arrangement of fish.
