The artwork is printed across separate acrylic sheets, then laminated together under crystal-clear resin, so the flames occupy several planes inside one solid block. Unlit it reads as glossy art; switched on, the resin spreads light evenly to every edge and the firebird opens up into something closer to a 3D window, with hidden depth in the smoke that daylight never shows. Size runs in four steps: S at 4.3 by 2.7 by 1.7 inches, M at 6.0 by 3.5 by 2.1 inches, L at 7.5 by 4.4 by 2.8 inches and XL at 9.6 by 5.8 by 3.1 inches. Base Color decides what the block stands on, with black marble for high contrast, maple wood for a pale warm frame, walnut wood for something darker, and white stone for a bright neutral. Operation is a plain on/off switch. Because the layering and pouring are done by hand, edge thickness, polish and the exact register of the layers vary a little between lamps.
