The crooked cloth, the drawn-on face and the ragged tail all sit inside a tall column of clear epoxy on a wooden stand, and because the resin is poured clear and polished flat, the little figure appears suspended with nothing holding it up. Light travels up the column from the base, catching the stitched edges of the cloth and throwing a tinted halo onto whatever the lamp is standing on, which suits a bedside table or a shelf at eye level.
