The hawksbill tortoise glides directly over the diver's head in this scene, close enough that the plates of its shell and the fine texture across the carapace are the first things you notice. Below it the diver is suspended mid-water, head tilted up, and the epoxy around both figures is kept clear so there is nothing between you and the encounter. Set into a grooved wooden holder, the casting lights from the base and shifts through a range of colors, and each setting changes the mood of the water from tropical shallows to deep blue. Height offers three builds, at 6, 8 and 10 inches; the 8 inch version measures roughly 8 x 5 x 1.5 inches overall. All three include the wooden LED light holder with a USB port and the grooved base it sits in, and all are made from wood and fiberglass with epoxy resin. The optional Personalization field allows up to 26 characters of free engraving, best kept under 20, and is typically used for names or a date. As this is handmade work, each piece differs slightly in figure placement, resin clarity and wood grain.
